We understand that cost is an important factor in the decision to reach out for support. We aim to provide you with affordable counselling services that are convenient and easy to access.

Pricing Questions

We aim to keep our prices as affordable as possible

Counselling at this stage is NOT part of the Medicare Better Access Scheme and counselling cannot be claimed under Medicare.

Australia is in a mental health crisis and desperately needs counsellors added to Medicare. As of 2024 the Government is working with the 2 peak counselling bodies to establish a set of industry standards for counsellors. 

  • Mental health Plans under the Better Access Scheme are provided by a doctor and the client usually sees a psychologist. 

    The current rebate in 2025 from Medicare for a registered psychologists is $98.50 and up to $145.50 for a clinical psychologists.

    The APS National Schedule of Suggested Fees 2025-2026 has the standard 46 to 60-minute consultation fee at $318. This is a suggestion only.

    Our current rate for individual counselling is $120 (60min) and couples/relationship is $180 (90min) which is less than the gap payment generally charged by a psychologist. 

  • We don’t have a set concession rate. We are private business and do not receive any subsidies, funding or rebates from the Government or any other organisation. 

    If you are a current or returning client and are experiencing financial distress please contact us to discuss your needs. 

    Any discounts offered are at the sole discretion of Soulful Support Counselling and are decided on a case by case basis.

    The advantages of this is that you as the client receive consistency of care. You are not limited to a certain amount of sessions. We do not try to push you towards certain outcomes.

  • Each health fund has its own criteria around counselling and it will depend of what each person is covered for in their policy. Please check with your individual health fund and level of cover.

The Fine Print

  • All Counselling sessions require a booking deposit to be paid when booking via the website.

    Up to 48 hours prior to session appointments can be rescheduled or cancelled at no charge.

    Between 48 hours and 24 hours prior to session a fee of 50% will be charged for cancellations and rescheduling.

    Cancellations/rescheduling less than 24 hours or NO shows to appointment will be charged 100% of the fee.

    Extenuating circumstances can be discussed with us and decisions are at the owner’s discretion.

  • Please note there are NO refunds for services that have already been provided

    Cancellations in accordance with our cancellation policy will be refunded (less credit card processing fee via Stripe) and can take up to 7 working days to process. 

    Credit card processing fees will NOT be refunded

  • Booking deposits are taken at the time of booking.

    All remaining session fee’s (less paid deposit) are processed via your stored card details on the day of booked appointment.
