We believe so
Bree has spent years counselling in-person as well as online and believes that there is little difference
The convenience of online counselling far outweighs the slight differences
The benefits of online counselling are:
1. Convenience of not having to travel or go anywhere
2. Comfort of your own home and surroundings
3. Some people go and sit down the beach or somewhere nice in their car
4. Not being seen by other people in a waiting room
5. Saving money on travel
6. Increased flexibility with times available for counselling

Yes, couples therapy can be successfully delivered via Telehealth. Many couples find it just as effective as in-person sessions, with the added benefits of comfort, flexibility, and convenience.
During online sessions, both partners can join from the same location or separate locations, and the therapist facilitates communication, emotional connection, and skill-building just as they would face-to-face.
Telehealth sessions are conducted in a secure, private online environment — ideal for busy couples, long-distance relationships, or those who simply prefer the comfort of their own home.
What matters most is the connection and commitment between partners, not the setting.

Great question and a valid one
My experience has been that as a counsellor your visual ability of picking up subtle nuances in the face, eyes and upper body movement increases.
Just like a person who has limited sight increases their capacity to hear – our brain adjusts to our environment and we become more finely tuned to the upper body.

We use Zoom primarily. However we don’t want anyone to be disadvantaged from accessing counselling so we are flexible in other platforms. These may include: Google Meet, Skype, Teams, FaceTime (Apple users only), Messenger video.
NB: it is important to note that 100% security guarantee of any video platform is not possible. Zoom is by far the most secure and we have never had any issues and we use every security measure that is possible with a paid account. However users use any technology on their devices at their own risk.

Yes you do
Video requires a reasonable amount of stable data so please ensure that your plan allows for this particularly if using your phone or tablet
You also need quality internet otherwise it can affect the video and sound quality
We ask that you have your phone next to you so that if we loose connection we can continue the session on the phone

The majority of people with the right device and adequate internet can use Zoom.
You simply need to create a free account with Zoom
Download the app onto your device and login. We then send you a unique link when you book and at the time of your session you simply click on the link and it will prompt you to open in the app.
For you first use of Zoom we suggest opening it prior to the session as most operating systems (Windows, Mac, Android and iOS) require you to provide permission for Zoom to use the camera and mic

Yes we do
This is particularly helpful for people who do not have the internet capability to do Zoom calls OR if there is some anxiety around being online.
In some cases we do require a brief video call face to face prior to commencing phone counselling
That is completely understandable. You want to have the best possible experience, it is important to you and to us.
